Goats Milk has the same ph as the human skin and leading dermatologists recommend both drinking Goats Milk and using Goats Milk soap (see our Links page). Psoriasis sufferers, those with excema, dermatitis or sensitive skin our natural soaps are ideal for you - made without the use of petroleum products which form an impermeable barrier on the surface of the skin preventing helpful moisturisers and lipids being absorbed where they will do most good.
Like our cold processed soaps these bars are handcut. We use a generous amount of fresh Northumbrian Goats Milk in these bars which gives an uneven spread of colour throughout the bars (further proof that they are indeed, handcrafted). Like our cold processed soaps these may sometimes have a soda ash ‘bloom’ which we prefer to leave on.

Calendula (pot marigold) has long been renowned for it’s healing antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Psoriasis sufferers are said to feel relief on using it and testimonials from our customers certainly confirm this. Chamomile also is immensely soothing on dry, itchy, damaged skin and we have included a scattering of petals in this mild soap as the only colouring. German Chamomile Essential oil further enhances the therapeutic properties of this bar and gives it a gentle fragrance which we have kept to a minimum.

Definitely our purest, mildest soap - baby soft and gentle. Made with care and using the minimum of natural ingredients we handpick Organic Plantain, Chickweed and Borage - local wildcrafted herbs and macerate them slowly in Extra Virgin Olive oil for a minimum of 4 months to extract all the plant goodness. Add to this Calendula and Evening Primrose oil and that’s all there is - no colours nor fragrances - just pure, healing, gentle soap.

A member of the same plant family as Comfrey and just as beneficial, Borage Seed oil contains the richest source of gamma linolenic acid (GLA) in all plants. GLA is an essential fatty acid which is converted by the body into a hormone-like substance called prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) which has anti-inflammatory properties. Wonderfully soothing and healing. Bergamot Essential oil is also known for its healing properties, especially helpful for excema, psoriasis, acne and scabies.

Note: Our soaps do not contain preservatives or any artificial ingredients - because of the large amount of natural oils and vegetable glycerine they contain we recommend that you keep them dry (when not in use obviously) - they will last longer that way.
