About
Established in 2001 we work from a small soaperie tucked high up in the North Pennines, set amongst the most beautiful wild scenery imaginable which inspires us daily to create a growing range of completely natural products handmade using only carefully selected oils, clays, waxes and butters combined specifically to compliment a wide range of skin types including sensitive skin problems such as psoriasis, excema and dermatitis.Determined to provide the highest quality products, we either grow or source many of our herbs and botanicals locally. For our more exotic oils and butters we use only Fair Trade suppliers who are as committed as we are to working with sustainable sources.
You can be confident that non of our products contain any parabens, triclosan, phthalates, sodium laurel sulphate, stabilisers or other harsh and nasty chemicals – nor are they tested on animals. All are suitable for vegetarians and most are also vegan friendly. We do not use any artificial colouring in our products either, depending on natural infusions and the addition of herbs and botanicals for natural hues.
Unlike some other ‘handmade’ soap manufacturers who will use a melt and pour soap base to which they add extra ingredients, all our soaps are made using traditional methods of blending oils and butters with caustisised sea salt. In the case of our pure vegetable glycerine soap we even add a generous dollop of Vodka………!!! See more about our soap processes on the soapy facts page.
